Altenberg Cathedral stands in splendid isolation in the middle of the Odenthal valley. It's neither Catholic nor Protestant: after Napoleon was defeated and the area came under Prussian rule once more, the King of Prussia ordered it to be rebuilt on condition that it could be used equally by both Christian confessions. Well worth a visit, especially to one of the regular organ recitals.
